Man City
Over the long weekend, it was a real pleasure to watch excellent football being played between Manchester City and the Thailand Premier All Stars. I was particularly impressed with the promising young Thais playing for Manchester City as well as the All Stars' ability to compete against Premier League opponents. It was nice to renew acquaintances with Manchester City Manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, (whom I last met in Romania while he was England Manager).

I visited the Bongkot Gas Field in the Gulf of Thailand on Monday 12 May 2008. Paul Warburton, Country Manager, BG Thailand, which is a partner in a consortium with PTT Exploration and Production and Total of France, accompanied me to the gas field which is located about 600 km south of Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand and 203 km off the coast of Songkla province.
BG (formerly called British Gas) owns 22.22% in the consortium which explores and produces gas and petroleum products in the Bongkot Gas Field.
Visit Cadbury Adams
Visited Cadbury Adams (Thailand) new factory in Lad Krabang Industrial Estate, Samutprakarn on 6 May to learn more about the company's Thailand operation. The plant only produces candy and chewing gum with the more famous chocolate product range largely being produced in Malaysia. On completion of the plant tour, I was presented with a large basket of Cadbury products by Mr Alan Palmer, SE Asian Managing Direcor, which I later shared with other colleagues at the Embassy.
